I went to Mexico for the very first time the summer after eighth grade. There is something about not being able to talk to someone else and still feeling love. It's like being mute. It's like having your voice taken right out of your throat. I wanted to learn how to communicate with those beautiful people. The next year as a freshman in high school I took my first Spanish class. I have never loved going to class as much as I loved going to my Spanish I class that year. Now, I'm a sophomore at William Carey University and after this school year is over I'm going to go live in South America for the whole summer. I'm going to Peru for two weeks and then I'm flying from there to Antofagasta, Chile where I will stay with my "Chilean family" for seven weeks. I'm blogging because I want to journal all my experiences while I'm there and all the ways that God will bless me before and during my stay. I'm going to learn Spanish while I'm there. I'm going to learn about a culture that is different than mine. I'm going to learn to lean on God to teach me what he has for me there. I absolutely cannot wait.
